Origin Green - Pathways to Enabling ESG Strategy Development and Reporting
Sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance is now high on the agenda for Origin Green members. This has come to the fore as companies’ customers, regulators and financial partners are seeking credible annual ESG disclosure, which will inform their long term engagement and investment with a company.
In the years ahead, ESG reporting will only grow in significance for Origin Green members as regulators introduce new regulations to support the implementation of sustainability policy and as investors select companies based on their ability to deliver continuous sustainability improvements. Most notably, at a regulatory level, the upcoming EU mandated Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) legislation will require large companies to report annually on information about their sustainability strategy, their ESG targets, the role of the board and management in driving sustainability performance, and the principal adverse impacts connected to the company and its value chain, intangibles, and how they have identified the information they report. However, for many companies CSRD reporting along with other mandatory ESG reporting is a complex topic to integrate within business strategies.
To support Origin Green member companies to further integrate ESG reporting within their companies, on this webinar Bord Bia will launch their Pathways to Enabling ESG Strategy Development and Reporting guidance document. The report aims to:
- Summarise the role of ESG reporting;
- Advise on how best companies can integrate ESG into their business strategy to align with emerging marketplace and regulatory requirements; and,
- Detail how the Origin Green programme is a valuable support to businesses looking to start and integrate ESG and ESG reporting into their business.
Bord Bia will be joined by Lorraine McCann, Director of Climate Change and Sustainability Services at EY Ireland, to provide an overview of the upcoming CSRD legislation and how companies can best prepare to meet their reporting obligations.
